Well it’s the end of October and Hanukkah is fast approaching.

It’s time to dust of the dreidel and if you’re stuck for a gift then have a look at a couple of cute Jewish themed doggy tops that we have. After all, why should the children get all the presents?

We have one pink cotton stretchy rib top with Shiksa written on it (meaning non Jewish girl) and we also have a white top that says I love Matzah Balls.

Thinking of buying a dog? Consider the costs first

10 27th, 2007 Author: SnootyPaws

Christmas is now less than 2 months away and as many people still buy pets for Christmas for their partner or children, you might want to pause and consider the costs first.

Research by British insurer Petplan claims that a dog will cost $33 900 over a 12 year typical lifespan and a cat $32 600 over 16 years.

So while puppies and kittens are cute they’re for life and the expenses are very real. You need to cover not only food but unexpected vet bills from accidents and sickness, worming and flea tablets, desexing costs, toys, collars, leads, boarding expenses when you go away and grooming.

Single guys? Buy a ute and a dog

10 27th, 2007 Author: SnootyPaws

An article in The Age yesterday said that the results from an online poll by an Indian car manufacturer found that 53% of women think men driving a ute is sexy.

Of those who perceived men in utes as attractive, 66% said the style of the ute and the condition it is in matters to them as it shows the owner takes pride in their work and appearance.

And if there is a dog in the back of the ute, 15 per cent say it makes the driver even “cuter”.

Only 6 per cent say utes that have been modified or hotted up really do it for them.

So there you have it – dogs in ute’s mean you’re super cute boys!

RSPCA Blessing of the Animals on the Gold Coast

10 17th, 2007 Author: SnootyPaws

This Sunday the RSPCA is hosting a blessing of the animals on the Gold Coast at the Trinity Anglican Mission church. The blessing of the animals is a custom in remembrance of St Francis of Assisi who loved all animals.

Bring your pet (dog, cat, bird, fish – all species are invited!) to be blessed at 9:30am. I would bring our burmese cat Jackson but he’s not a fan of his carry cage (due to it’s association with going to the vets or friends places when we go away) and he isn’t a fan of dogs….

The Trinity Anglican Mission is located at: 186 Robina Town Centre Drive. For more info call 07 5578 8914.
